The Blue Lakes program is being piloted in 2022. Until the full launch, we are accepting expressions of interest through our registration form below.
Minimum enrollment standards:
All individuals enrolling as part of the Blue Lakes program must have a minimum 10-foot width buffer of natural shore (natural rock outcrops included), and no hardened shorelines (no walls or Gabion baskets). Exceptions are *grandfathered situations that would otherwise result in sedimentation of the lake basin. (*Send pictures of shore)
Minimum threshold to participate:
Beginning the journey is easy. All you need are three or more people within a lake community, who will form a management committee to apply to become a Blue Lake.
Once the application is complete, you will be contacted and asked to complete a Dream Board. All members of your Blue Lakes team will receive supporter flag to place on your docks or boats.
Educational materials, workshops, communications, content, etc. are available to help you on this conservation journey.
To maintain your status, all you need to do is achieve gains in six of the eight performance measures annually and to complete a Score Card. We will offer regular workshops and webinars. Some fees for these will apply to cover the charity's costs.
